Sangrur, March 2 (Sukhwinder Singh Bawa) – A case that shames human relations has come to light, where a young man promised to marry a widowed mother of three daughters and physically and mentally abused her for two years. The limit was reached when the woman reached court after the wedding date was fixed, but the young man disappeared from there.
According to the information received, the victim is a widowed woman named Varsa Sharma (fictitious name) who has been running a beauty parlor in Sangrur for the past many years and a young man named Hemant Garg was also running his shop in front of the parlor. Being a neighbor, Hemant first got involved with the children of the victim woman and then came close to the victim woman.
The victim woman, who had married her deceased husband’s brother after the death of her husband, had a family settlement and later remarried. She also had many close friends. Died a year ago.
The victim was running her own beauty parlor in Sangrur to raise her daughters. Meanwhile, due to the closeness of Hemant Garg, the widowed woman, considering the future of her children safe, handed them over to him.
“Woman reaches court for court marriage, but groom absconds!”
According to the complaint written to the police, the victim had been living with the said young man for the last two years. The young man had firmly promised to marry her. The woman had convinced her children and relatives with great difficulty for this relationship. A lawyer was also hired for the court marriage as per the scheduled program.
Yesterday, when the victim reached the court along with her children and family members to complete the marriage rituals, the young man did not come there. After waiting for a long time and trying to contact him unsuccessfully, the victim realized that she had been cheated.
The victim has now sought justice from the police and has demanded strict action against the accused.
